CURLEY, Vernon Owen
The funeral for Vernon Owen Curley of Brookvale was held Friday, January 8, 2016, from the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, to St. Joseph's Church, Kelly's Cross, where the mass was conducted by Reverend Joseph Palliyodil, who also proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The pall was placed by his family. The first reading was proclaimed by his son-in-law, Aaron Gauthier, and the second reading was done by Janet Higgins. Prayers of the Faithful were led by sister-in-law, Elly Tremblay. Hymns for the service were: Entrance, Be Not Afraid; offertory, Isaiah 49; communion, Lord Jesus I Will Sing of You as I Journey; incensing, Songs of the Angels; and the recessional, How Great Thou Art. Cross bearer was Joan Campbell, and candle bearers were Jim Gorman and Gary Hughes. Pallbearers were Steve Curley, Darcy MacLeod, Roddy MacLeod, Allan Matters, Anthony McDonald and Paul Thompson. Flowerbearers were Olivia Colborne, Debby Malone and Pamela Younker. Parking attendants were Joe Matters and Ken Monaghan. Also in attendance were management and staff of Brookvale Ski Park, staff members of Health P.E.I., Dept. of Family and Human Services, and members of St. Francis of Assisi Fraternity. Brookvale Ski Park staff formed an honour guard. Interment took place in the church cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud.
