MURPHY, Mary “Gladys” (nee Goff)
The funeral mass for Mary “Gladys” (nee Goff) Murphy, of Foxley River, wife of the late Oswald Murphy, was held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 from Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel to St. Brigid’s Roman Catholic Church, Foxley River, at 10:30 a.m., where mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Danny Wilson, who proclaimed the Gospel from Matthew 25 and delivered the homily. The altar server was Raymond Gallant, the cross bearer was Everett McNally, and the eucharistic minister was Lorraine Savory. The pall was placed on the casket by her children. The first reading, from Ecclesiastes 3, was offered by Leo Murphy. The second reading, from Romans 5, was offered by Vicki Arsenault. The Prayers of the Faithful were offered by Melissa Walsh. Organist, Danalee Lynch-Veinotte, along with Amanda Rae Gallant and Hazel St. Amand sang Amazing Grace, The Lord Is My Shepherd, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman, Songs of The Angels and How Great Thou Art. Amanda Rae Gallant sang the offertory hymn, Silent Night. Hazel St. Amand sang Lady of Knock for the post communion hymn. Everyone in attendance was considered an honorary pallbearer. The pallbearers were Brian Greenan, Holson Estey, Raymond Bulger, Ralph Bulger, Roger Bulger and Boyne Murphy. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
