The fu­neral mass for Mary “Gla­dys” (nee Goff) Mur­phy, of Fox­ley River, wife of the late Oswald Mur­phy, was held on Thurs­day, De­cem­ber 31, 2015 from Fer­gu­son Tyne Val­ley Fu­neral Chapel to St. Brigid’s Ro­man Catholic Church, Fox­ley River, at 10:30 a.m., where mass was cel­e­brated by Rev. Fr. Danny Wil­son, who pro­claimed the Gospel from Matthew 25 and de­liv­ered the homily. The al­tar server was Ray­mond Gal­lant, the cross bearer was Everett McNally, and the eucharis­tic min­is­ter was Lor­raine Sa­vory. The pall was placed on the cas­ket by her chil­dren. The first read­ing, from Ec­cle­si­astes 3, was of­fered by Leo Mur­phy. The se­cond read­ing, from Ro­mans 5, was of­fered by Vicki Arse­nault. The Prayers of the Faith­ful were of­fered by Melissa Walsh. Or­gan­ist, Danalee Lynch-Veinotte, along with Amanda Rae Gal­lant and Hazel St. Amand sang Amaz­ing Grace, The Lord Is My Shep­herd, Hail Mary, Gen­tle Woman, Songs of The An­gels and How Great Thou Art. Amanda Rae Gal­lant sang the of­fer­tory hymn, Silent Night. Hazel St. Amand sang Lady of Knock for the post com­mu­nion hymn. Ev­ery­one in at­ten­dance was con­sid­ered an hon­orary pall­bearer. The pall­bear­ers were Brian Greenan, Hol­son Estey, Ray­mond Bul­ger, Ralph Bul­ger, Roger Bul­ger and Boyne Mur­phy. In­ter­ment fol­lowed in the parish ceme­tery.
