A Pleasant Grove man charged in connection with a shooting incident on Christmas Day has been released from custody pending his next court appearance.

Matthew Brian Misener was released at the conclusion of a show cause hearing before a justice of the peace Tuesday morning. His release is subject to his compliance with a series of conditions set by the court. Misener returns to court Feb. 22 for election.

Certain details of the case were revealed during the show cause hearing, but a publication ban prohibits the publication or broadcast of those details.

Misener is charged with aggravated assault in connection with the incident in which two men suffered gunshot wounds. One was treated at hospital and released, while the other was transported to hospital in Halifax for further treatment.
