The funeral mass for Darrell Chaisson was celebrated Monday, January 4, 2016 from Dingwell Funeral Home to St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Raju Chebattina proclaiming the Gospel and delivering the homily, and cousin, Fr. Gerard Chaisson, presiding. The pall was placed by sisters, Debbie MacDonald, Brenda MacCormack, Sharon Richard, Mary Lee Larkin, Marlene Robichaud, Michele MacAulay and Frances Mahar. The paschal candle was lit by cousin, Jacinta Deveaux. The first reading was proclaimed by niece, Sarah Dunn, second reading by nephew, Mitchel Robichaud, and the prayers of intercession by niece, Vanessa Mahar. The music was provided by St. Mary’s funeral choir, organist, Bill Matthews, and nephews, Kurtis Larkin, Simon Robichaud, Patrick Richard and Logan Richard. The processional hymn was Here I am Lord; offertory, Go Rest High on That Mountain; communion, Hallelujah; meditation, an original song by Logan and Patrick Richard, entitled Number 4; and the recessional was a medley of fiddle tunes by cousin, J.J. Chaisson. The eucharistic ministers were cousin, Donna Chaisson, and sister, Michele MacAulay. The honorary pallbearers were all those in attendance. The pallbearers were nephews, Brodie MacDonald, Jeff Mahar, Kieran Larkin, Jonathan MacCormack, Nicholas MacAulay, Kyle Robichaud, Matthew Richard and special cousin, Ricky MacDonald. The flowerbearers were nephews, Andrew MacDonald, Kurtis Larkin, Luke MacAulay, Logan Richard, nieces, Maria Mahar, Bethany Robichaud, Susan MacCormack and grandniece, Brooklyn Riley. Interment took place at St. Alexis Cemetery, Rollo Bay with Fr. Gerard Chaisson delivering the graveside prayers. Completion of funeral arrangements was entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
