The fu­neral for Eileen Mon­aghan (nee MacMil­lan), RN, of Char­lot­te­town was held on Fri­day, Jan­uary, 15, 2016 from the Hen­nessey Cut­cliffe Char­lot­te­town Fu­neral Home to St. Dun­stan’s Basil­ica where the fu­neral mass was cel­e­brated by Rev­erend Floyd Gal­lant, who also de­liv­ered the homily. The first read­ing was pro­claimed by Colleen MacCaull and the se­cond read­ing was pro­claimed by Eileen Pirkey. The prayers of in­ter­ces­sion were of­fered by Dar­lene Du­rant. The fu­neral mass was sung by St. Dun­stan’s Parish choir. The or­gan­ist was Gary Cud­more. The hymns were: en­trance, Be Not Afraid; of­fer­tory, We Re­mem­ber; com­mu­nion, One Love Re­leased; and the re­ces­sional, Im­mac­u­late Mary. The pall­bear­ers were Low­ell Park­man, Tom El­liot, Calvin Mon­aghan, Bren­don McQuaid, Ken­neth MacMil­lan and Mervyn Roach. The in­ter­ment will take place in the Ro­man Catholic Ceme­tery, Char­lot­te­town. Among those at­tend­ing the fu­neral were rep­re­sen­ta­tives of Is­land Pe­tro­leum, Inn on the Hill and the Char­lot­te­town Hos­pi­tal Nurses Alum­nae.
