Shoot­ing re­sults in more charges

Brodie Joseph McQuaid and Matthew Lindsey Eric Clarke now fac­ing charges

The RCMP’s ma­jor crime unit has laid charges against two men stem­ming from a shoot­ing at a res­i­dence in Pleas­ant Grove early Christ­mas morn­ing.

Brodie Joseph McQuaid, 23, of Mill Cove, has been charged with break and en­ter and com­mit­ting an as­sault.

Matthew Lindsey Eric Clarke, 28, of Bed­ford, has also been charged with break and en­ter and com­mit­ting an as­sault.

Both men will ap­pear in pro­vin­cial court in Char­lot­te­town on Feb. 22.

They are not the only two men fac­ing charges as a re­sult of the shoot­ing.

Matthew Brian Misener, 30, of Pleas­ant Grove, has been charged with two counts of ag­gra­vated as­sault and one count of care­less use of a firearm.

He ap­peared in court this week.

He will be back be­fore the courts on Feb. 22, the same day as McQuaid and Clarke.

The Queens District RCMP re­ceived a 911 call at around 1 a.m. on Dec. 25.

When the po­lice ar­rived they dis­cov­ered a 23-year-old man and a 28-year-old man had been shot.

The older male was treated and re­leased from the Queen El­iz­a­beth Hos­pi­tal in Char­lot­te­town while the younger man was air­lifted to Hal­i­fax.
