Woman found slumped in car

A woman found slumped over the steer­ing wheel of a parked car is fac­ing charges of hav­ing care and con­trol of a ve­hi­cle while im­paired by a drug. Char­lot­te­town Po­lice Ser­vices re­ceived the com­plaint Wed­nes­day evening about the in­ci­dent on Cumberland Street, said a re­port is­sued by the depart­ment Thurs­day. Of­fi­cers noted the woman in the car seemed im­paired, but not by al­co­hol, an ob­ser­va­tion con­firmed by an of­fi­cer known as a drug recog­ni­tion ex­pert who came to the scene. “The ac­cused per­son, a 26year-old fe­male res­i­dent of Strat­ford, will be ap­pear­ing in pro­vin­cial court at a later date,” said the re­port.
