Hur­ri­canes men’s team play ACAA-lead­ing Sea­wolves, Hol­land Col­lege women look­ing to gain points on road

The Hol­land Col­lege Hur­ri­canes men’s vol­ley­ball team plays a home-and-home se­ries with the UNBSJ Sea­wolves this week­end in At­lantic Col­le­giate Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion (ACAA) play.

It starts Satur­day in Char­lot­te­town at 1 p.m. and con­tin­ues Sun­day at 4 p.m. in Saint John, N.B.

The Sea­wolves (7-2) lead the ACAA while the ‘Canes are on their heels at 5-2. UNBSJ leads the sea­son se­ries, hav­ing won games on Nov. 15 (3-0) and Nov. 22 (3-1). The Hur­ri­canes won on Nov. 21 in three sets.

This week­end’s games are the fi­nal two times the teams will play dur­ing the reg­u­lar sea­son. Af­ter this week­end the Hur­ri­canes have six games re­main­ing, four against St. Thomas and two against Sainte-Anne.

The women Hur­ri­canes play the third and fourth games of their five-game road trip this week­end when they visit the Dal­housie AC Rams on Satur­day at noon in Bi­ble Hill, N.S., be­fore tak­ing on the Sea­wolves on Sun­day in Saint John at 2 p.m.

The se­cond-place Hur­ri­canes (10-2) will look to con­tinue to pres­sure the first-place Mount Saint Vin­cent Mys­tics (11-1) for top spot with strong per­for­mances this week­end.

The Rams (2-8) are in sev­enth place while the third-place Sea­wolves are 7-6.

The Hur­ri­canes have won all four matchups with the teams this sea­son.
