Woman drives while drunk

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - PROVINCE -

A 43-year-old woman, who was caught driving drunk, was sentenced recently to serve three days in jail.

Angela Roberts, 43, appeared before Chief Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Charlottetown where she entered a guilty plea.

The court heard that on the night she was arrested, Charlottetown police saw Roberts driving erratically and pulled her over. She failed a roadside breath test.

Roberts’s lawyer said his client, who works as an educational assistant, was remorseful for her actions.

Along with the jail time, Orr fined Roberts $1,000 and ordered her to pay a $300 victim surcharge.
