Academy athletes win 15 gold medals during Prince Edward Classic
Island Gymnastics Academy athletes had plenty of podium finishes at the annual Prince Edward Classic competition held in Charlottetown during the weekend.
More than 450 of the region’s top gymnasts competed from the top Atlantic clubs, including national champion Hugh Smith and Olympian and 2015 Pan Am champion Ellie Black.
“Our gymnasts had impressive results in every category,” said Island Gymnastics Academy’s competitive program director Sharon Gareau. “On top of the overall finishes, we won gold medals on 15 events. It was a solid showing by the Academy gymnasts.”
