MACDONALD, Allan James

The funeral for Allan J. MacDonald of Rice Point was held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home to Canoe Cove Presbyterian Church where the service was conducted by Reverend Dr. Gordon Matheson who delivered the message, A New Home. Family remembrances were shared by son, John MacDonald. During the service, soloist, Darlene Bradley, rendered the hymn, How Great Thou Art, and soloist, Peggy MacDonald, rendered the musical selection entitled A Fisherman’s Song. The congregational hymn was Shall We Gather At The River. The organist was Matt MacLean. The pallbearers were sons, John MacDonald, Paul MacDonald and Mark MacDonald, grandsons, Peter MacDonald, Austin MacDonald and Allan MacNeil. The honorary pallbearers were Brenda and Ted Connolly, Doug MacEachern, and the Nine Mile Creek Wharf fishermen. Among those attending the funeral liturgy were representatives of District 17 Liberal Association, MP Wayne Easter and Rice Point Women’s Institute. Following the service the interment took place in Canoe Cove Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
