Auction for ailing Pinette boy raises more than $19,000
The online auction for a Pinette boy recently diagnosed with APL leukemia was a resounding success.
More than $19,000 was raised for the family of eightyear-old Callum Thomson.
Callum was diagnosed on New Year’s Eve at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and was taken right over by ambulance to the IWK Health Centre in Halifax.
That’s where he will have to spend the next eight to nine months in treatment, putting an obvious financial strain on the family.
A benefit concert, featuring local entertainers, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Belfast Consolidated School.
