Slowing down saves lives

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - EDITORIAL - Joanne Lord MacLeod, Charlottetown

I see by this morning's Guardian that the RCMP is cracking down on speeding.

That makes me stop and think of the day I was driving along North River Rd. through the school zone by Queen Charlotte Junior High school. That 30 km/hr speed zone lasts almost until one reaches Kirkwood Dr. It was lunch time and the driver of the car behind me must have been awfully hungry, or something, because he pulled out and passed me.

I know I listened when the message came out that speeders would be charged at double the going rate and demerit points the same, that I didn't want to have that happen to me! Sometimes it is very hard to keep the speed down; but it may save lives around a school.
