P.E.I. In­ter­me­di­ate Hon­ours band teams up with UPEI Wind Sym­phony for Sun­day con­cert

The P.E.I. In­ter­me­di­ate Hon­ours Band will present a con­cert on Sun­day, Jan. 31, at the Prince Ed­ward Is­land Con­ven­tion Cen­tre with spe­cial guest the UPEI Wind Sym­phony, un­der the di­rec­tion of Karem Si­mon, at 2 p.m.

The hon­ours band is an an­nual ex­pe­ri­ence for the most ded­i­cated Grade 9 band stu­dents on the Is­land.

“They come to­gether, re­hearse for a week­end with a guest con­duc­tor and present a pro­gram of chal­leng­ing mu­sic for an ap­pre­cia­tive au­di­ence,” a news re­lease states.

This year’s guest con­duc­tor is Rowan Fitzger­ald.

The event is spe­cial be­cause it brings to­gether stu­dents from 16 in­ter­me­di­ate is­land schools for an en­riched, mu­sic-mak­ing ex­pe­ri­ence.

Tick­ets are $5 and are avail­able at the door.
