Ceilidh in the City July 5 is Canadian Country Classics
To celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, Ceilidh in the City has created a summer season that celebrates all things Canadian, including its diverse music heritage.
The July 5 ceilidh will showcase Canadian country music with special guests Larry Campbell and Colleen MacPhee.
Campbell has been performing all across P.E.I. with groups like Country Legends “Men of the Century” where he portrays the music of Gene Watson. Campbell, who plays guitar and harmonica, also plays in a trio with Roy McCaull and Marcella Richard. Show time is 7:30 p.m.
MacPhee has also performed on the Island for many years. She recently rose to the forefront by portraying the music of Rita MacNeil in the popular show, Lady Singers Of Our Century.
Campbell and MacPhee will join the weekly hosts of the ceilidh, Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Brian Knox and Heartz Godkin, for a night of music.
The show will be held at the Blanchard Family Centre, 7 Pond St., Charlottetown, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. for general admission. There will be a canteen service, provided by the Holy Redeemer catering staff, as well as a 50/50 draw, which will be supporting a variety of Island charities.
Reservations are accepted for those travelling in large groups by calling Kendall at 902-569-1133 or Brian at 902-569-3327. For more information, go to facebook.com/ CeilidhInTheCity
