Jean W. Turgoose in her 96th year, passed away peace­fully at Queen El­iz­a­beth Hospi­tal, Charlottetown, on Fri­day, June 30, 2017, af­ter a very short ill­ness. She was the lov­ing wife of the late Peter J. Turgoose. Jean was the lov­ing mother of John (Grete Jensen), Philip (Mar­lene Bryan); grand­mother of Anne-Marie, Sven, Ian, Me­gan, Gil­lian and Erika; and great-grand­mother of Alexan­der, Peter, Lus­more and Félix. Jean was born in Hud­der­s­field, Eng­land; mar­ried Peter in Shire­hamp­ton and moved to Chile in 1946 where her sons were born. There­after she moved to Canada and spent the last 38 en­joy­able years in North Rus­tico and cher­ished her many friends and the Gal­lant fam­ily who adopted her. She was also renowned for knit­ting hun­dreds of hats for pre­mie ba­bies for the QEH and vol­un­teered at the School Li­brary. Flow­ers grate­fully de­clined. If so de­sired, do­na­tions to the QEH Foun­da­tion would be ap­pre­ci­ated. In keep­ing with Jean’s wishes; cre­ma­tion has taken place.
