The Cel­e­bra­tion of Life in mem­ory of Rev. Ge­orge Power was held on Satur­day, June 24, 2017 from Belvedere Fu­neral Home to Cal­vary Church with son-in-law, Rev. Dr. Scott Buller­well pre­sid­ing. Scrip­ture pas­sages were read by Rev. Kevin John­son and Rev. Doug Moore led in prayer. Rev. Johnny Power shared heart­felt fam­ily re­mem­brances of his fa­ther. Ju­lianne (niece) and Roland Savoie, as well as great-grand­daugh­ter, Tay­lor Ped­er­sen, gave touch­ing tributes on a life well lived. Dur­ing the ser­vice, daugh­ters Brenda Buller­well and Mar­garet MacKen­zie sang “Be­cause He Lives”. “His Eye is on the Spar­row” was sung by grand­daugh­ter, Melissa MacKen­zie. Ed Do­iron sang “I Bowed on My Knees and Cried Holy”. The con­gre­ga­tional hymns were “One Day”, “It Is Well”, and “Meet­ing in the Air”. All mu­sic was ac­com­pa­nied by daugh­ter Mar­garet MacKen­zie on the piano. The homily by Rev. Buller­well, en­ti­tled: “Leav­ing a Legacy”, en­cour­aged at­ten­dees to live for God in such a way as to leave a legacy that would be strong enough for their fam­i­lies in their time of need. Pall­bear­ers were Dustin Buller­well, grand­son; Nicholas Ped­er­sen, great­grand­son; Wendell MacKen­zie, son-in-law; Chuck Ped­er­sen, grand­son-in-law; and neph­ews Tony Smith and Tyler Meade. Vis­it­ing pas­tors were in­vited to form an Hon­our Guard for the Re­ces­sional. Also at­tend­ing the fu­neral ser­vice were mem­bers of the Gideon’s In­ter­na­tional (Char­lot­te­town). Fol­low­ing the ser­vice, ev­ery­one was in­vited to join the fam­ily for a re­cep­tion in the Cal­vary Church Fel­low­ship Hall. In­ter­ment took place in Sher­wood Ceme­tery, led by Rev. Dr. Scott Buller­well, with Rev. David Filsinger lead­ing in prayer.
