Charlottetown man charged with aggravated assault
A 33-year-old Charlottetown man is in jail for allegedly assaulting a woman at an address on St. Peter’s Road. Charlottetown police responded to the complaint Monday night, and were informed by witnesses that the man assaulted a 38-year-old woman.
The woman was injured and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. Police did not say the severity of the injuries.
Officers arrested the man and charged him with aggravated assault, assault, uttering threats, breaching his probation and failing to comply with an undertaking. He will appear in court at a later date.
Police are continuing their investigation and said the accused and the woman are known to each other.
