Same charge, same sentence
Two men received the same sentence Wednesday for failing a breathalyzer.
Chief Provincial Court Judge Nancy Orr sentenced both Paul Jeffrey Hughes, 45, and Ryan Thomas Lidstone, 21, each to three days in jail. Both were also fined $1,000 and ordered to pay a $300 victim of crime surcharge. Neither Hughes nor Lidstone are allowed to operate a motor vehicle for one year. Hughes failed a breathalyzer on June 4 in Wood Islands and Lidstone failed a breathalyzer on June 12 in Charlottetown.
Both pleaded guilty to the offences Wednesday.
