Assault leads to month-long sentence
A 62-year-old man was sentenced to 30 days in jail for common assault. James (Jimmy) Charles Doyle pleaded guilty to the offence resulting from an incident on March 3.
The lobster fisherman will also spend 18 months on probation.
Chief Provincial Court Judge Nancy Orr ordered Doyle to refrain from having any contact with the victim. Doyle must also write a letter of apology to the victim.
