Councillor urges public to help out

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - ATLANTIC -

NORTH SYDNEY, N.S. — Regional councillor Earlene MacMullin says education and awareness is a key aspect to stopping vandalism, not only in the North Sydney community, but the Cape Breton Regional Municipality in general.

Over the past two weeks, three acts of vandalism have occurred in the North Sydney community, just minutes away from each other, causing damage to a local business, food bank and an elementary school. “People don’t want to report things and I understand that, they’re nervous if they call the police that their names will be heard, but nothing is too small, if they see something suspicious they have to report it,” said MacMullin.
