Vying for Atlantic bragging rights
Eight teams converge in Charlottetown for under-13 and under-14 Atlantic championships starting today
Chalk the lines and lace up the cleats for the 2017 under-13 and under-14 girls Atlantic championships today through Sunday in Charlottetown.
Teams from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador and P.E.I. vie for the Atlantic titles.
Games begin today at 10 a.m. at UPEI when the P.E.I. under13 team takes on Newfoundland and Labrador, followed by the P.E.I. under-14 squad facing the N.L. under-14 team at noon.
Nova Scotia tangles with New Brunswick in the under-13 and under-14 categories at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively. All games are at UPEI. Friday and Saturday’s action begins at 10 a.m.
On Sunday, the under-13 bronze game between third and fourth place goes at 8 a.m., the gold medal contest between first and second goes at noon.
The under-14 bronze game is 10 a.m., while the gold game is 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, the P.E.I. under13 and under-14 boys teams are in Corner Brook, N.L., for the Atlantic championships which also run today to Sunday.
P.E.I.’s under-13s tangle with Nova Scotia at noon on Thursday, while the under-14s face N.S. at 4 p.m. to start the tournament.
