Vy­ing for At­lantic brag­ging rights

Eight teams con­verge in Char­lot­te­town for un­der-13 and un­der-14 At­lantic cham­pi­onships start­ing to­day

Chalk the lines and lace up the cleats for the 2017 un­der-13 and un­der-14 girls At­lantic cham­pi­onships to­day through Sun­day in Char­lot­te­town.

Teams from New Brunswick, Nova Sco­tia, New­found­land and Labrador and P.E.I. vie for the At­lantic ti­tles.

Games be­gin to­day at 10 a.m. at UPEI when the P.E.I. un­der13 team takes on New­found­land and Labrador, fol­lowed by the P.E.I. un­der-14 squad fac­ing the N.L. un­der-14 team at noon.

Nova Sco­tia tan­gles with New Brunswick in the un­der-13 and un­der-14 cat­e­gories at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., re­spec­tively. All games are at UPEI. Fri­day and Satur­day’s ac­tion be­gins at 10 a.m.

On Sun­day, the un­der-13 bronze game be­tween third and fourth place goes at 8 a.m., the gold medal con­test be­tween first and sec­ond goes at noon.

The un­der-14 bronze game is 10 a.m., while the gold game is 2 p.m.

Mean­while, the P.E.I. un­der13 and un­der-14 boys teams are in Cor­ner Brook, N.L., for the At­lantic cham­pi­onships which also run to­day to Sun­day.

P.E.I.’s un­der-13s tan­gle with Nova Sco­tia at noon on Thurs­day, while the un­der-14s face N.S. at 4 p.m. to start the tour­na­ment.
