P.E.I. nabs draw versus league’s top team

The P.E.I. Canada Games squad hung on for a 1-1 tie versus Co­diac First Touch in the N.B. Women’s Premier Soc­cer League ac­tion Mon­day at UPEI.

Maddie Hurley had the P.E.I. goal, while Me­lanie Be­long net­ted league-lead­ing Co­diac’s goal.

P.E.I. went to 1-4-1, good for third spot in the five-team cir­cuit.

Co­diac sits atop the stand­ings at 5-0-1 and with 16 points.

Hurley leads P.E.I. with four goals and scor­ing.

P.E.I. re­sumes play Satur­day, July 15, versus Fred­er­ic­ton (4-1). Game time is 3 p.m. at UPEI. is sec­ond in league
