Is­land dancer one of 10 to win RWB schol­ar­ship

Fol­low­ing the Royal Win­nipeg Bal­let (RWB) School Pro­fes­sional Di­vi­sion’s 16-city In­ter­na­tional Au­di­tion Tour, 10 tal­ented dancers have re­ceived the In­vestors Group Na­tional Schol­ar­ships to con­tinue their dance train­ing with the RWB School Pro­fes­sional Di­vi­sion’s Sum­mer Ses­sion from July 2-29.

These 10 will join over 200 dancers from across the world for their month-long train­ing. Among the schol­ar­ship re­cip­i­ents is Lo­rynn Craw­ford of Mount Her­bert.

“It is al­ways ex­cit­ing for us to see emerg­ing tal­ent across the coun­try,” shares Ar­lene Minkhorst, RWB school di­rec­tor. “The In­vestors Group Na­tional Schol­ar­ships are awarded to the most tal­ented au­di­tion­ees to ac­knowl­edge their po­ten­tial and pro­vide op­por­tu­ni­ties to learn with some of the coun­try’s top dance ed­u­ca­tors.”

In­vestors Group pro­vides a $2,000 schol­ar­ship to one as­pir­ing dancer in ev­ery prov­ince across Canada. The schol­ar­ships en­able re­cip­i­ents to at­tend the sec­ond phase of the au­di­tion process, four weeks of train­ing at the RWB School, and a chance to earn a place in the full-time Pro­fes­sional Di­vi­sion pro­gram in Win­nipeg.
