Com­mu­ni­ties in Bloom heads to Mon­tague

Mon­tague the Beau­ti­ful is look­ing to get some of­fi­cial sup­port for its nick­name.

Com­mu­ni­ties in Bloom judges are head­ing to Mon­tague next week as the town pre­pares to com­pete in the Canada 150 cat­e­gory of the na­tional beau­ti­fi­ca­tion pro­gram.

Judges Colleen Stock­ford from Sus­sex, N.B., and Su­san El­lis from Pem­broke, Ont., will be eval­u­at­ing the Town of Mon­tague from July 13-15. Town of­fi­cials are ask­ing busi­nesses and res­i­dents to make sure their prop­er­ties are ti­died up be­fore the judges ar­rive.

Com­mu­ni­ties in Bloom is a Cana­dian non-profit or­ga­ni­za­tion com­mit­ted to fos­ter­ing civic pride, en­vi­ron­men­tal re­spon­si­bil­ity, beau­ti­fi­ca­tion and to im­prov­ing qual­ity of life through com­mu­nity par­tic­i­pa­tion and a na­tional chal­lenge.
