An­nual Govern­ment House gar­den party is July 12

Lt.-Gov. Frank Lewis and his wife, Dorothy Lewis, are invit­ing the pub­lic to their sixth an­nual Govern­ment House gar­den party.

The Le­wises will greet Is­land res­i­dents and visi­tors from 2-4 p.m. on Wed­nes­day. There is no dress code but visi­tors are en­cour­aged to dress colour­fully for the oc­ca­sion.

The an­nual tra­di­tion is held on the grounds of Fan­ning­bank at the edge of Vic­to­ria Park, 1 Terry Fox Dr.

Ex­tra seat­ing and tents will be set out for the af­ter­noon. Light re­fresh­ments will be avail­able and the Queen’s County Fid­dlers will pro­vide the mu­sic.

Other than the day of the gar­den party, Govern­ment House is open for free, bilin­gual guided tours un­til the end of Au­gust, Mon­day to Fri­day, with tours ev­ery half hour start­ing at 10 a.m. and con­tin­u­ing un­til 3:30 p.m. with­out ap­point­ment. Ad­vance no­tice of group larger than 10 people is ap­pre­ci­ated. Other times for group tours can be ar­ranged by ap­point­ment.

Visi­tors to Govern­ment House are re­minded that park­ing is lim­ited at all times and re­stricted on the day of the gar­den party to those re­quir­ing mo­bil­ity as­sis­tance.
