Traf­fic through Mt. Her­bert is be­ing di­rected through a tem­po­rary round­about this week as work con­tin­ues at the in­ter­sec­tion of the Fort Au­gus­tus Road and Route 215.

Drivers are ad­vised to ap­proach the tem­po­rary round­about with care and fol­low sig­nage.

One lane, two-way traf­fic will be main­tained dur­ing day­light hours.

Work for the week end­ing July 14 in­cludes place­ment of fill ma­te­rial, place­ment of gran­u­lar ma­te­rial and ex­ca­va­tion of por­tions of the ex­ist­ing road­way. Drivers should watch for traf­fic con­trol per­son­nel and ad­vance sig­nage as they will change through­out the con­struc­tion pe­riod. Drivers are also asked to be alert and to op­er­ate with con­cern for the safety of work­ers, pedes­tri­ans and their fel­low mo­torists.
