N.B. teenager fac­ing charges in fa­tal ac­ci­dent that kills two

A teenager is fac­ing charges af­ter two peo­ple were killed and three oth­ers in­jured in a three­ve­hi­cle col­li­sion in north­east­ern New Brunswick.

RCMP say the crash hap­pened around 9 p.m. Satur­day in Du­gas, near Le Vil­lage His­torique Aca­dian and Caraquet.

Po­lice say the car driven by the youth rear-ended a ve­hi­cle, push­ing it into the left lane where it was T-boned by an on­com­ing SUV. They say a 72-year-old man and a 57-yearold woman from Main­sonette died at the scene, while three peo­ple in the SUV were taken to hos­pi­tal in se­ri­ous con­di­tion, in­clud­ing a 10-year-old girl who was air­lifted to Hal­i­fax.
