Picnic shelter on the way
Efforts continue on installing a picnic shelter in J. Frank McAulay Park in the neighbourhood of Parkdale.
Nancy McMinn, parks superintendent with the city, recently met with representatives from the Boys & Girls Club, Home Depot, Parkdale-Sherwood Lions Club and Coun. Terry MacLeod regarding funding.
The request from the city is to install a concrete slab which is estimated to cost around
Home Depot will provide the lumber/material and build the shelter.
The Lions club will make any donation to cover any material that Home Depot isn’t able to cover.
It was also noted that there is about $3,800 left in the capital budget for the tennis court project within the park.
