Pic­nic shel­ter on the way

Ef­forts con­tinue on in­stalling a pic­nic shel­ter in J. Frank McAu­lay Park in the neigh­bour­hood of Park­dale.

Nancy McMinn, parks su­per­in­ten­dent with the city, re­cently met with rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the Boys & Girls Club, Home De­pot, Park­dale-Sher­wood Lions Club and Coun. Terry Ma­cLeod re­gard­ing fund­ing.

The re­quest from the city is to in­stall a con­crete slab which is es­ti­mated to cost around

$3,000.

Home De­pot will pro­vide the lum­ber/ma­te­rial and build the shel­ter.

The Lions club will make any do­na­tion to cover any ma­te­rial that Home De­pot isn’t able to cover.

It was also noted that there is about $3,800 left in the cap­i­tal bud­get for the ten­nis court project within the park.
