Teenager dies in two-ve­hi­cle crash

SHEDIAC, N.B. — A twove­hi­cle crash north­east of Monc­ton has claimed the life of a 17-year-old New Brunswick girl.

The teen from Shediac was driv­ing a small car that col­lided with a pickup in Boudreau-Ouest on Mon­day at around 7:15 p.m., po­lice said.

“She made her stop at the in­ter­sec­tion and en­gaged into traf­fic un­safely,” RCMP Cpl. Gabriel De­veau said Tues­day. Fire­fight­ers, paramedics and po­lice ar­rived on the scene within min­utes. But the girl, who was still in high school, died at the scene.

The driver of the truck was un­harmed.

There were no pas­sen­gers in ei­ther ve­hi­cle.

The crash hap­pened at the in­ter­sec­tion of the Ohio Ser­vice Road and Route 133, a few kilo­me­tres from Par­lee Beach Pro­vin­cial Park, near Shediac.
