Annual tournament planned
Three Arena Fundraising Golf Tournament set for July 28 in Mill River
A fundraising golf tournament aimed at supporting three West Prince arenas is set for later this month at the Mill River Golf Course.
The annual Three Arena Fundraising Golf Tournament, which supports the Tignish, Alberton and O’Leary rinks, takes place Friday, July 28.
Twenty-six teams have already registered for the event, which aims to raise money for ongoing expenses at the three facilities. Registration is still open for the day of golf, which includes games, food, prizes and a banquet.
Tee-off time for the tournament, which is a best-ball format, is 1 p.m.
The net proceeds, each year, are divided equally between the three arenas.
Taking the lead in organizing the event is the West Region Sports and Recreation Council, along with O’Leary-Inverness MLA Robert Henderson, Alberton-Roseville MLA Pat Murphy, Tignish-Palmer Road MLA Hal Perry and Egmont MP Bobby Morrissey.
This year’s goal is to raise $30,000. The cost of entering a corporate team is $775 plus HST.
