Am­ber MacArthur key­note speaker

Dig­i­tal in­no­va­tion ex­pert Am­ber MacArthur, a.k.a. Am­ber Mac, will be the key­note speaker at Startup Zone’s Busi­ness Women’s Sum­mer Sum­mit on July 26 in Char­lot­te­town.

The sum­mit is de­signed for women in busi­ness to net­work, fos­ter skills and ac­quire the knowl­edge needed to ex­cel in their field.

“P.E.I. is ready to com­pete on the world stage and be­ing able to have Am­ber share her world­class ex­pe­ri­ence and en­cour­age Is­land women in busi­ness will make for a tremen­dous oc­ca­sion,” said in­terim Startup Zone CEO Doug Keefe.

MacArthur is a P.E.I. na­tive who started her ca­reer in the late 1990s when she spent four years in the startup trenches in Toronto. She even­tu­ally built one of the first fe­male-fo­cused life­style por­tals for Mi­crosoft Canada.

In 2006, she and her brother started their own dig­i­tal agency called Kon­nekt Dig­i­tal En­gage­ment, which han­dles the con­sult­ing side of her busi­ness ac­tiv­i­ties.

Her speak­ing, spokesper­son and in­flu­encer ac­tiv­i­ties are han­dled by her Am­berMac Me­dia Inc. com­pany, which also is in­creas­ingly ac­tive in video pro­duc­tion.

Her clients in­clude Google, Mercedes, Mi­crosoft, Nin­tendo, Sco­tia­bank and Shopify.

In Septem­ber, MacArthur will be em­cee for the global, three­day ME Con­fer­ence in Frank­furt, Ger­many.

The Busi­ness Women’s Sum­mer Sum­mit takes place at Startup Zone in Char­lot­te­town be­gin­ning at 1 p.m., and is open to the pub­lic. Reg­is­tra­tion is free but space is lim­ited.
