The funeral for Mr. Joseph A. Farrell was held on Monday, July 10, 2017 from the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottet­own Funeral Home to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer where the funeral mass was celebrated by Reverend Joseph Dovari who also delivered the homily. The lessons were read by Joe’s grandson Stephen Mahar and son Joey Farrell. The prayers of intercessi­on were offered by niece Irene MacDonald. The funeral mass was sung by the Holy Redeemer Funeral Choir under the direction of Tom Wilkinson. The organist was Gary Cudmore. During the mass the procession­al hymn was On Eagles Wings, the offertory hymn was In The Garden, the communion hymn was I Am The Bread of Life, the meditation solo was Ave Maria sung by Tom Wilkinson and the recessiona­l hymn was How Great Thou Art. The pallbearer­s were grandson’s Mark Rundle, Kyle Flanagan, Kenny Flanagan, Michael Mahar, Stephen Mahar, Christophe­r Farrell and Mark Mahar. The honorary pallbearer­s were Donnie & Pearl Fitzpatric­k, Walter & Ruth MacGregor, Tack McKenna, Carl Wilson, Peg Petre, Reg Flanagan, Mack MacLeod, Ed Peters, Kenny Haywood, Sid Vessey, Ralph Parkman, Linus Doyle, Allison Coles, Boyce Holmes, Roy MacMillan, Harry Beaton, Martina Murphy and everyone in attendance. The interment took place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottet­own.
