The death oc­curred at MacLeod Care Clin­ton View Lodge, Clin­ton, on Satur­day, July 15, 2017, of Fred­er­ick “Fred” MacDon­ald, for­merly of Sher­brooke, aged 103 years. Fred was proud of his com­mu­nity and farm. He very much en­joyed his fam­ily, the land and an­i­mals. Born in Sher­brooke, he was the son of the late Colin and Bertha (Cot­ton) MacDon­ald. Proudly re­mem­bered by his chil­dren Clare, Mer­i­lyn (Jean Paul) Gagnon, Janet Deighan and John J. (Cyn­thia); by grand­chil­dren Paul (Su­san) Deighan, Chris­tine (Tim) Day, Carla (Javier) Jovel, Cheri, Colin (Zhasta) MacDon­ald, Jeanne (Mark) Robin­son, Cameron MacDon­ald, Steven (Carol) Gagnon, Brian (Nanette) Gagnon; and Howard and Dy­lan (Bethany) Fo­ley; 18 great-grand­chil­dren; and by his great-niece Julie (Brian) Vali­ton. Pre­de­ceased by his wife Bertha (Cameron) MacDon­ald; grand­daugh­ters Deb­o­rah and Dar­lene Deighan; daugh­ter-in-law Jane MacDon­ald; son-in-law Arnold Deighan; broth­ers James (Mar­ion), John (Dorothy), Clarence (Mar­guerite); sis­ters Edith (John) Pill­man and Ellen (Bernard) LaBarre. Rest­ing at the Moase Fu­neral Home, Sum­mer­side, un­til Wed­nes­day, then to St. Paul’s Church, Sum­mer­side, for fu­neral mass at 1:30 p.m. In­ter­ment in St. Paul’s Ceme­tery, Sum­mer­side. Vis­it­ing hours Tues­day from 5-8 p.m. Memo­rial do­na­tions to the Prince County Hos­pi­tal Foun­da­tion or the P.E.I. 4-H Trust would be ap­pre­ci­ated.
