Police track down theft suspect

A teenager from the Mt. Stewart area was arrested following an incident at Jay’s Grocery Store in Morell last Monday.

Montague RCMP responded to a break, enter and theft in progress at the store at 4 a.m.

A local resident heard glass breaking in the vicinity of the front door.

A resident who went to the store to see what was happening came upon a young man attempting to steal cigarettes from inside the store.

The youth was able to get away from the witness and run from the scene.

Kings District RCMP was later able to identify a 17-yearold teen from the Mt. Stewart area as the suspect.

He was arrested and will appear in court later this month in Georgetown to faces charges of break and enter to commit theft.
