Drunk driver caught af­ter leav­ing beach jailed

A Char­lot­te­town man who was caught driv­ing drunk af­ter leav­ing a beach was sen­tenced Mon­day to three days in jail.

Nathan Glen An­drew Cud­more, 23, ap­peared be­fore Chief Judge Nancy Orr in pro­vin­cial court in Char­lot­te­town where he pleaded guilty to fail­ing the breath­a­lyzer. The court heard that on June 23 at around 7 p.m. the RCMP pulled Cud­more over af­ter re­ceiv­ing a com­plaint of a pos­si­ble im­paired driver leav­ing Brack­ley Beach. Cud­more later pro­vided breath­a­lyzer sam­ples that were above the le­gal limit. Along with the jail time, Cud­more must pay a $1,000 fine and a $300 vic­tim sur­charge. He is banned from driv­ing for one year.
