Drunk driver jailed after almost hitting pylons
A Cornwall man who almost hit several pylons on a road while he was driving drunk was sentenced Monday to three days in jail. Lincoln G. MacEachern, 55, appeared before Chief Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Charlottetown where he pleaded guilty to failing the breathalyzer.
The court heard that on May 29 Charlottetown police responded to a complaint about a possible impaired driver. They saw MacEachern’s Mazda almost hit several pylons on Capital Drive. He later provided breathalyzer samples that were above the legal limit. Along with the jail time, Orr fined MacEachern $1,000 and ordered him to pay a $300 victim surcharge. MacEachern is banned from driving for one year.
