Team P.E.I.’s Zach Lund, left, bat­tles with a mem­ber of the Fred­er­ic­ton Reds dur­ing McCain New Brunswick Pre­mier Soc­cer League ac­tion Sun­day at UPEI. The Reds won 2-0 be­hind goals from Mar­cus Lees and Jared Mur­phy. The Reds im­proved to 5-2-0 while Team P.E.I. is 1-5-1. The teams will play again Satur­day in Fred­er­ic­ton, N.B., at 6 p.m. be­fore the Is­land squad meets Fundy United Sun­day at 1 p.m. at UNBSJ. P.E.I. F.C. won league games over the New Brunswick Canada Games team and the Reds on the week­end. Na­cho Sanchez and Mark Smith scored in a 2-0 vic­tory over the Canada Games team while Alex O’Brien scored all three goals in a 3-2 win over the Reds. P.E.I. F.C. (5-1-3) closes out the reg­u­lar sea­son July 27 with a match with the P.E.I. Canada Games squad at 8 p.m. at UPEI. Four mem­bers of P.E.I. F.C. have signed with the Reds to at­tend na­tion­als in Lan­g­ley, B.C., from Oct. 4-9. They are Mur­phy, Jim­mie May­aleh, Max Maund and Brandon Ea­gle.
