The Reds won 2-0 behind goals from Marcus Lees and Jared Murphy. The Reds improved to 5-2-0 while Team P.E.I. is 1-5-1. The teams will play again Saturday in Fredericton, N.B., at 6 p.m. before the Island squad meets Fundy United Sunday at 1 p.m. at UNBSJ. P.E.I. F.C. won league games over the New Brunswick Canada Games team and the Reds on the weekend. Nacho Sanchez and Mark Smith scored in a 2-0 victory over the Canada Games team while Alex O’Brien scored all three goals in a 3-2 win over the Reds. P.E.I. F.C. (5-1-3) closes out the regular season July 27 with a match with the P.E.I. Canada Games squad at 8 p.m. at UPEI. Four members of P.E.I. F.C. have signed with the Reds to attend nationals in Langley, B.C., from Oct. 4-9. They are Murphy, Jimmie Mayaleh, Max Maund and Brandon Eagle.
