Hal Bruce makes guest ap­pear­ance at Kaylee Hall

Close to the Ground con­cert se­ries con­tin­ues on Thurs­day in Pooles Cor­ner

Fid­dlers’ Sons and Keelin Wedge wel­come Hal Bruce as their spe­cial guest Thurs­day at the Close to the Ground con­cert se­ries at Kaylee Hall in Pooles Cor­ner.

The con­cert be­gins at 8 p.m. Since his early days as a song­writer/mu­sic com­poser and as a record­ing artist, Bruce, a Nova Sco­tia na­tive, has recorded more than 14 al­bums, in­clud­ing three orig­i­nal projects which charted well in the 1990s in Canada.

He has also earned more than a dozen re­gional, na­tional and in­ter­na­tional awards, in­clud­ing male vo­cal­ist, song­writer, en­ter­tainer, video and band of the year.

In ad­di­tion, he has been in­ducted to three halls of fame be­tween 2006 and 2015, the lat­est be­ing the Nova Sco­tia Coun­try Mu­sic Hall of Fame in Septem­ber 2015.

Bruce has toured ex­ten­sively in Europe, Aus­tralia, South Amer­ica, the Caribbean and the United States.

He cov­ers a wide reper­toire of old rock ’n’ roll as well as pop, coun­try and folk mu­sic.

Bruce has also been known to belt out the oc­ca­sional Bea­tles song.
