Char­lot­te­town show­ing its colours for spe­cial week

The City Hall Bell Tower will be il­lu­mi­nated in the six rain­bow colours to rec­og­nize P.E.I. Pride Week tak­ing place Sun­day, July 23 to Satur­day, July 29.

The six colours – red, or­ange, yel­low, green, blue and pur­ple – will con­tin­u­ously ro­tate each evening dur­ing P.E.I. Pride Week.

The City of Char­lot­te­town has also painted tem­po­rary rain­bow cross­walks at the in­ter­sec­tion of Queen Street and Grafton Street.

The rain­bow flag is syn­ony­mous with di­ver­sity and the LGBTQ+ com­mu­nity. The City is show­ing its sup­port by lay­ing down the colours just in time for P.E.I. Pride Week, which be­gins on Sun­day, July 23. P.E.I. Pride Week will con­clude the fol­low­ing Satur­day with a Pride pa­rade in Char­lot­te­town.
