Knife in­ci­dent leads to ar­rest

A Char­lot­te­town res­i­dent was ar­rested for as­sault with a weapon af­ter an in­ci­dent in the city on Mon­day af­ter­noon.

Char­lot­te­town Po­lice Ser­vices re­ceived a com­plaint Mon­day at 1:46 p.m., about a man threat­en­ing an­other man with a knife.

Po­lice were told by the al­leged vic­tim that a man, who he knew, ap­proached him and threat­ened him while bran­dish­ing a knife.

Po­lice later ar­rested a 28-year-old man who is now in jail at the Provin­cial Correctional Cen­tre. He will be ap­pear­ing in provin­cial court at a later date.

There were no in­juries from the in­ci­dent, says a po­lice re­port.
