Chief Supt. Jennifer Ebert will be the force’s next commanding officer in P.E.I.
The Mountie in charge of the major crimes branch of Saskatchewan’s RCMP division will be the force’s new commanding officer in P.E.I.
Chief Supt. Jennifer Ebert replaces former Chief Supt. Joanne Crampton, who accepted a position in Ottawa with federal policing criminal operations.
Premier Wade MacLauchlan congratulated Ebert on her promotion.
“I am proud to have the RCMP as a strong policing partner and I look forward to continuing this collaboration to ensure Islanders maintain a high degree of confidence in our police services and in our justice system,” he said.
Ebert joined the RCMP in 1997.
While working in Wood Buffalo, Alta., where she was posted in 2011, Ebert was designated as an accredited team commander and became the team leader of the serious crimes and domestic violence units.
She became officer in charge of the Saskatchewan major crimes branch in 2014.
