The fu­neral for Boyde Beck was held on Mon­day, July 24, 2017, from Belvedere Fu­neral Home Chapel where the ser­vice was con­ducted by Rev. Cal­lum Beck. The pro­ces­sional was Flow­ers of the For­est played by piper Brady Sin­gle­ton. Dur­ing the ser­vice, Just A Dream by Delerium was played as a mu­si­cal med­i­ta­tion. Kerri Wynne MacLeod sang Jour­ney Home, writ­ten by Wen­dell Boyle. The poem, High Flight, was read by Matt Rain­nie. Ed­ward MacDon­ald shared a touch­ing, heart­felt eu­logy. Hon­orary pall­bear­ers were ev­ery­one present. Pall­bear­ers were Boyde’s brothers Doug Beck and Roy Beck, and friends John Boy­lan, Leo Cheverie, Don­ald Moses, and Henri Van Den Bremt. Fol­low­ing the fu­neral ser­vice, ev­ery­one was in­vited to join the fam­ily in the Belvedere Re­cep­tion Cen­tre. Those at­tend­ing the fu­neral ser­vice in­cluded His Hon­our, Lieu­tenant Gover­nor H. Frank Lewis, and rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the AVC Dean’s Of­fice, the PEI Mu­seum and Her­itage Foun­da­tion, and UPEI Mar­ket­ing & Com­mu­ni­ca­tions.
