The funeral for Boyde Beck was held on Monday, July 24, 2017, from Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel where the service was conducted by Rev. Callum Beck. The processional was Flowers of the Forest played by piper Brady Singleton. During the service, Just A Dream by Delerium was played as a musical meditation. Kerri Wynne MacLeod sang Journey Home, written by Wendell Boyle. The poem, High Flight, was read by Matt Rainnie. Edward MacDonald shared a touching, heartfelt eulogy. Honorary pallbearers were everyone present. Pallbearers were Boyde’s brothers Doug Beck and Roy Beck, and friends John Boylan, Leo Cheverie, Donald Moses, and Henri Van Den Bremt. Following the funeral service, everyone was invited to join the family in the Belvedere Reception Centre. Those attending the funeral service included His Honour, Lieutenant Governor H. Frank Lewis, and representatives from the AVC Dean’s Office, the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation, and UPEI Marketing & Communications.
