Car goes up, over me­dian in Char­lot­te­town

A 67-year-old Char­lot­te­town woman was in­volved in a sin­gle ve­hi­cle mo­tor ve­hi­cle col­li­sion Thurs­day af­ter­noon. Char­lot­te­town Po­lice Ser­vices and the Char­lot­te­town Fire Depart­ment re­sponded to the 911 call at 2:45 p.m. at the cor­ner of Kens­ing­ton Road and the ar­te­rial high­way.

Sgt. Dave Pound, with Char­lot­te­town Po­lice Ser­vices, said the woman was trav­el­ling north on Kens­ing­ton Road and, while at­tempt­ing to merge to travel east on the ar­te­rial high­way, her ve­hi­cle went up over the me­dian. “There was a small rup­ture in her gas tank, which was im­me­di­ately at­tended to by Char­lot­te­town Fire (Depart­ment).” There were no in­juries as a re­sult of the col­li­sion.

At this time, no charges are be­ing con­tem­plated, said Pound.
