Car goes up, over median in Charlottet­own

A 67-year-old Charlottet­own woman was involved in a single vehicle motor vehicle collision Thursday afternoon. Charlottet­own Police Services and the Charlottet­own Fire Department responded to the 911 call at 2:45 p.m. at the corner of Kensington Road and the arterial highway.

Sgt. Dave Pound, with Charlottet­own Police Services, said the woman was travelling north on Kensington Road and, while attempting to merge to travel east on the arterial highway, her vehicle went up over the median. “There was a small rupture in her gas tank, which was immediatel­y attended to by Charlottet­own Fire (Department).” There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

At this time, no charges are being contemplat­ed, said Pound.
