Woman charged in Charlottetown collision
A 39-year-old woman has been charged with failing to yield the right of way after a two-vehicle collision during supper-hour traffic on Monday. Police advised drivers to avoid the intersection at Malpeque Road and the bypass after the collision, which occurred around 5 p.m.
It involved a Kia Rio driven by the 39-year-old woman and a Honda Civic driven by a 19-year-old woman. A Charlottetown police spokesperson said the Rio turned in front of the civic while going through the intersection.
“There were no life-threatening injuries.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene,” said the spokesperson.
