Woman ‘well over’ twice the legal limit while driving, police say
GRAND TRACADIE — A 20-year-old Charlottetown woman is charged with impaired driving after police found her operating a vehicle with more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in her bloodstream. Queens District RCMP conducted a traffic stop in the early morning hours of Sunday after noticing a vehicle driving irregularly in the Grand Tracadie area. The driver was observed by the officers to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken to the detachment to provide a breath sample.
Police say the readings were “well over” two times the legal limit of .08. The woman is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Charlottetown in August to answer to the charges.
