Woman ‘well over’ twice the le­gal limit while driv­ing, po­lice say

GRAND TRACADIE — A 20-year-old Charlottetown woman is charged with im­paired driv­ing af­ter po­lice found her op­er­at­ing a ve­hi­cle with more than twice the le­gal limit of al­co­hol in her blood­stream. Queens District RCMP con­ducted a traf­fic stop in the early morn­ing hours of Sun­day af­ter notic­ing a ve­hi­cle driv­ing ir­reg­u­larly in the Grand Tracadie area. The driver was ob­served by the of­fi­cers to be un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol and was taken to the de­tach­ment to pro­vide a breath sam­ple.

Po­lice say the read­ings were “well over” two times the le­gal limit of .08. The woman is sched­uled to ap­pear in pro­vin­cial court in Charlottetown in Au­gust to an­swer to the charges.
