Astros get Liri­ano from Jays

The AL West-lead­ing Hous­ton Astros have ac­quired lefty Francisco Liri­ano from the Toronto Blue Jays, ad­ding him to a ro­ta­tion that’s been banged up this sea­son.

The Astros traded out­field­ers Nori Aoki and Teoscar Her­nan­dez on Mon­day for Liri­ano.

The 33-year-old Liri­ano is 6-5 with a 5.88 ERA in 18 starts this sea­son.

He is ex­pected to Astros on Tues­day.

Hous­ton, which owns the best record in the AL, put righty Lance McCullers on the 10-day dis­abled list Mon­day with back dis­com­fort. Ace Dal­las Keuchel and Collin McHugh re­cently came off the DL.

Aoki hit .272 with 19 RBIs in 71 games in his first sea­son with Hous­ton. Her­nan­dez spent most of the sea­son at Triple-A Fresno, where he hit .279 with 12 homers and 44 RBIs. join the
