Garrett Mason at the Trailside for two nights

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - COMMUNITY / ENTERTAINMENT -

Garrett Mason bring his signature brand of blues to the Trailside Music Cafe’ & Inn, Mount Stewart, tonight and tomorrow night.

Mason, a true bluesman at heart, was raised in Truro, N.S., by his mother, Pam, and father, veteran Canadian Bluesman Dutchie Mason.

His quest to become a blues musician started at an early age as he was surrounded by blues music. His favourite tapes at three years old were Canned Heat and Buddy Rich. What really sealed the deal for him to become a blues guitarist came after watching a video of Stevie Ray Vaughn “Live At the El Mocambo”.

“Garrett puts on one of the best blues shows around, so if you’re even slightly a fan of the blues you should check this out,” says owner Pat Deighan.

“We had him play in June, and the place was hopping. He’s the real deal folks.”

Tickets are available at www. trail, Back Alley Music or 902-394-3626. Doors and the kitchen open at 6:30 p.m. with music at 8 p.m.
