Life-threatening injuries in motorcycle collision
A 68-year-old man from Laval, Que., was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the motorcyle he was driving collided with a small car in Kings County Monday.
The crash on Route 2 in the area of Rollo Bay was reported to the Kings District RCMP about 1 p.m. Monday.
A 63-year-old female passenger of the motorcycle, also from Laval, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The car’s driver and lone occupant, an Ontario resident, was not injured.
RCMP Sgt. Chris Gunn said a collision analyst was at the scene Monday afternoon, with RCMP also deploying a drone to assist the analyst.
It’s unclear whether charges will be laid from the incident.
“We’re right at the start of the investigation, so I can’t say,” said Gunn.
Island EMS and the Souris Fire Department also responded to the collision.
Gunn thanked the public for patience during the road closure, which lasted several hours. “At this time the investigation is ongoing, and our thoughts are with all persons involved in the collision,” the RCMP said.
