Police find cocaine, meth and weapon following arrest for breach
A 35-year-old Charlottetown man who was arrested in Summerside for breaching a courtordered curfew ended up being charged with drug offences.
Sunday at 4:30 a.m., Summerside Police Services picked the man up for breaching conditions of an undertaking requiring him to remain at his home between midnight and 6 a.m.
Officers observed the man getting out of a taxi in the Summerside area and made the arrest.
Following the arrest, however, the accused was found to be in possession of a large amount of drugs that police suspected to be cocaine and methamphetamine, along with a prohibited weapon.
He now faces charges of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, breach of an undertaking and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The man remains in custody and faces a court date today.
